Jo Becker explains controversy around Joe Paterno’s final contract
New York Times’ Jo Becker joined the show to talk about Joe Paterno’s final deal at Penn State.
Becker explained that Paterno worked out a very favorable deal before the details of the Jerry Sandusky case came out and when they fired him, the board of trustees basically honored it. The deal was set up for him to leave after the 2011 season even before the Sandusky news came to light.
Becker said the board was afraid to reconsider the contract because they had gotten beat up by everyone over firing him in the first place.
