David Feherty talks about Adam Scott’s meltdown at British Open

Golf Channel analyst David Feherty joined guest host Bonnie Bernstein to discuss the British Open and Ernie Els comeing up with the win.

Feherty said that it was definitely most nerve-wracking to be Adam Scott on Sunday, not Els. Because Scott had to deal with the pressure and hit the shots while Els waited. Feherty said Scott was clearly affected.

Feherty said he almost won majors, but made sure he didn’t wait until 18 to choke. “I made sure that I screwed up earlier,” Feherty said. “Somewhere earlier in the middle of the back nine.”

Feherty said that course firmed up just a little bit on Sunday and the wind picked up. He said the course turned into a “saber-tooth tiger.”

Feherty can’t understand why we’re being so critical of Tiger Woods.  “We keep comparing to the standard he had at the end of the century, which was super-human,” Feherty said. He said that Tiger has actually had a great year.
