Mike Pereira says replacement officials would hurt integrity of NFL

FOX’s Mike Pereira joined the show to talk about the potential NFL referee work stoppage and more.

Pereira said a work stoppage would be very bad. “To me it strongly compromises the integrity of the game,” Pereira said. He said even the best officials miss calls, and it would be much worse with replacement officials.

“You can not really know that the game is going to be officiated properly,” Pereira said.

Pereira said with all the money the League is making, he doesn’t think it’s worth taking the risk of using replacments. He said the safety of players is too important right now.

Pereira said the replacements are coming from all over and don’t have a chance. “I feel for them,” Pereira said. “They’ve never even approached working a game at this speed.”
