Joe Juliano with latest on Penn State dealing with NCAA sanctions

Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Joe Juliano joined the show to talk about the Penn State board of trustees filing a suit against the NCAA for its sanctions.

Juliano explained that the powers that be weren’t all in favor of president Rodney Erickson accepting the NCAA sanctions. “This is the disgruntled board of trustees wing,” Juliano said.

Juliano says the transfers have hurt Penn State, but they still have talent for this year. But he thinks that it will get much worse in coming years.

Juliano said the football program has been the public face of the school during the last month or so, and he thinks they’ve handled themselves well.

Juliano said that players can still transfer until Sept. 1 and he thinks that no more than one or two will leave before then. Juliano said the players are unified and excited for the season.
