Willie Geist on the crazy controversies and funny details of Olympics

NBC’s Willie Geist joined guest host Glenn Ordway to help break down the Olympics.

Geist was at the controversial badminton match and explained that two teams were both really bad at throwing matches.

Geist said that the Canadian women’s soccer team had a right to be upset about a controversial call on a goalie holding the ball too long against the U.S. “That’s like calling a three-second violation in the last seconds of the NBA Finals,” Geist said.

Geist was also at the U.S.-Nigeria matchup, and said he knew Nigeria was in trouble when they ran on to the court. “They did have matching uniforms, which I thought was a nice touch,” Geist said.

Ordway asked Geist which impressed him more, Michael Phelps or Usain Bolt. “Nothing touched Usain Bolt for electricity,” Geist said.

Ordway asked him the funniest thing he’s seen at the Olympics. He talked about the Judo contestant who was tested positive for marijuana.
