Tom Brokaw recaps his Olympic experience
NBC’s Tom Brokaw joined the show to talk about being in London for the Olympics.
Brokaw talked about how great London was. He said he got to see Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps and loved it.
Brokaw said the cultural bonds are very strong between England and the U.S. He noted our obsession with English entertainers, even citing Shakespeare in London and the King’s Speech winning the Oscar.
Brokaw did talk about the threat of terrorism. He said they had a plan … and knew what studio they would go to if something happened. And he talked to people from the British special forces and got a sense of what was going on. Brokaw said British authorities let it be known to groups they considered risks that they were watching closely.
