Jeff Passan: Things never end well in Boston
Yahoo’s Jeff Passan joined the show to talk about his report the Red Sox players met the owner to complain about manager Bobby Valentine.
“You just don’t see guys of Jon Lester caliber left in to die on the vine like that,” Passan said.
Passan said a group of players got together and convinced Adrian Gonzalez to send a text to the owner. A few days later players met with the owner in New York.
Passan said everyone here is to blame, except for new GM Ben Cherington, who didn’t get to pick a manager.
Passan said this is a bad time for the Red Sox, and they seem to be devolving into a malaise. Still, Passan thinks Valentine will last the season.
Passan said things always end poorly in Boston. “It’s a different culture up there and it leads to chaos,” Passan said.
