Peyton Manning talks about his health and gaining comfort with current receivers

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning joined the show to preview the upcoming season.

Dan asked if there was any doctor who advised him not to play. “There was not,” Manning said. He said he saw so many doctors, he couldn’t even remember. He said he’s not in medical school, but he’s a lot closer then he was before to being a doctor.

Manning said that John Elway is at every training camp.

Manning said that he’s working hard to get on the same page with his receivers. He said it’s a “comfort” for him to have Jacob Tamme and Brandon Stokley there because he knows their games from Indy.

Dan asked if he could have started an NFL game six months ago. Peyton said yes, but he’s not sure if he could have effectively competed.

Dan asked Manning if Andrew Luck is coming into a different league. Manning said some defenses are more complicated. But other things that are important are the same – like Bill Belichick or Dick Lebeau’s defense.
