Charles Davis on USC, Penn State, Tyrann Mathieu
FOX college football analyst Charles Davis joined the show to talk about the big stories from Week 1 of the season. Here are some of his takes:
— Davis had interesting comments on USC. He thinks if the Trojans won the national title, it would be an incredible achievement because of their sanctions.
— Davis said that experts knew Ohio University was a good team picked to win the MAC, so it wasn’t surprising it beat Penn State.
— Davis said Michigan’s loss to Alabama said more about the Wolverines than the Tide. He said we knew Alabama could play. But we learned Michigan isn’t elite. “They have some work to do,” Davis said. Davis also said Michigan has a tough contest against Air Force coming up.
— Dan asked Davis is Tyrann Mathieu was a first-round talent. Davis said he’s a second-round talent, but a first-round producer. Davis thinks he’s built as a cornerback, but plays like a safety.
