Larry Bowa weighs in on Dodgers, Nationals’ decision to shut down Strasburg

MLB Network analyst Larry Bowa joined the show to talk about the big stories in baseball.

Bowa had interesting comments on the Dodgers. He thought they’d be in great shape when they made midseason additions.  “I thought they were were going to jump right over the Giants,” Bowa said. But Bowa still thinks the Dodgers will make the postseason because of their offseaosn.

Bowa doesn’t think the Nationals are doing the right thing by shutting down ace pitcher Stephen Strasburg. He said you can’t manage pitcher with those kind of rules, citing his experience with Joba Chamberlain when Bowa was with the Yankees.

Bowa also said the Nationals shouldn’t be looking at the big picture here because they may not make it back here. “There is no guarantee you’re going back,” Bowa said.

Bowa thinks the Nationals are better then what they thought they were going to be and GM Mike Rizzo got stuck in a situation he couldn’t get out of.
