Peter King says NFL could spend $3 million to solve conflict with officials
Sports Illustrated’s Peter King joined the show to talk about the replacement officials and NFL Films’ Steve Sabol.
King said that the NFL and the regular officials haven’t talked and we’re going another week with the replacements.
King said that at the end of the day, it’s going to be about giving 107 officials the current pension system. He said it will cost the NFL $3 million for this year.
King also weighed in on the latest news with Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma. “I believe the League knew that when it assassinated Jonathan Vilma’s character,” Kind said, “they had to know within a shadow of doubt that something was there. If I’m choosing sides, I tend to believe Vilma offered the money.”
King thinks that Steve Sabol has a chance to get into the Hall of Fame in the upcoming election. “I think Steve’s case will be a very, very strong one,” King said. But King said there’s some question as to who gets the credit, Steve or Ed Sabol?
