Al Michaels weighs in on Tirico criticizing the replacement officials
NBC NFL analyst Al Michaels joined the show to talk about the upcoming week in the NFL and more.
Dan asked Al about Mike Tirico’s comments during the Falcons-Broncos game that the officials had lost control. “I thought it was a very appropriate comment to make,” Michaels said. Michaels said that play-by-play guys have experience and add to the telecast by adding their opinion.
Michaels talked about his relationship with coaches. He said that coaches like Bill Belichick think the meeting with the networks before a game is like “a trip to the dentist.” Michaels said a lot of these guys “slow-play” you to kill the clock.
