Mitch Williams on Josh Hamilton’s future, infield fly call

MLB Network analyst Mitch Williams joined the show to talk about the playoffs and more.

Williams is OK with the one-game wild card. “If you haven’t played well enough over the course of 162 games to earn the right not to play in a one-game playoff, that’s where you’ve put yourself,” Williams said.

Dan and Williams both think that there’s a good chance Josh Hamilton won’t be a Ranger next season.

Williams weighed in on the controversial infield fly rule call in the Cardinals-Braves game. “That was an absolute joke,” Williams said. He noted that the wrong umpire made the call. And there’s no way an infielder could drop the ball and turn two.

Williams thinks Washington and Cincinnati advance in the NLCS. and New York and Detroit advance in the ALCS.
