Al Leiter weighs in on A-Rod, Yankees’ hitting approach, Cardinals’ success
MLB Network analyst Al Leiter joined the show to talk about the playoffs and more.
Dan asked Leiter if he would want A-Rod as a teammate now. “I like Alex as a teammate,” Leiter said. “I like Alex as a person. I’m not paying the bills. There’s definitely a sign of decline — less playing time because of injuries.”
Leiter said the Yankees have to consider how to change their approach so they can generate some runs without home runs. He said that wasn’t there this year and it cost them.
Leiter talked about one of the Cardinals’ biggest strength — their bullpen. He said it’s basically over if you get into the sixth inning in an close game with them, because they have so many guys there that have great stuff.
