Tony Dungy says Colts headed to playoffs, Aaron Murray will be best QB in Draft

NBC analyst Tony Dungy joined the show to talk about the big stories in the NFL.

Dan asked Dungy what stands out to him at this point of the season. “We’ve got no real dominant team in the NFL,” Dungy said.

Dan asked if the Giants might be considered a favorite. “IF you were going to bet on somebody they’d be as good as anybody,” Dungy said. He thinks they refocused before this game against the Packers.

Dungy thinks the Colts are headed to the playoffs. “They’re playing with confidence,” Dungy said. “And they want to win for Chuck Pagano.”

Dungy thinks the Colts will face Peyton Manning and the Broncos on wild-card weekend. “I think it’s gonna happen,” Dungy said.

Dungy said that matchup would be bigger than Peyton would let on. Dungy said that Peyton told him the Colts had to take Andrew Luck, but he also feels he could have taken this team to where they are right now.

Dungy said he’d have to split the vote between Peyton and Adrian Peterson for Comeback Player of the Year.

Dungy also talked about Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray, who played with his son. He said he’d take Murray before any other quarterback, even at No. 1. He noted how hard a worker Murray is.

On a side note, Tony talked about why he doesn’t wear Super Bowl rings. He said he got one with the Steelers. “The Steelers ring, which was great in 1978, looks like a dime store ring,” Dungy said.
