Deadspin's Tim Burke explains how he got Te'o story
Deadspin.com’s Tim Burke joined the show to talk about breaking the Manti Te’o girlfriend hoax.
Burke explained how Deadspin was contacted about the Te’o story being false and how they followed up on it. They started by Googling the girlfriend and finding nothing of substance on her.
Burke said he’d like to ask Te’o why he didn’t deny the girlfriend earlier.
Burke had an interesting take on Notre Dame’s press conference yesterday.
“If I were Notre Dame and Manti Te’o I wouldn’t have responded to this at all,” Burke said.
Burke said that the next story on Deadspin.com will be about how other outlets missed the story.
