Tony Dungy says Chip Kelly may have watched NFL playoffs and changed his mind
NBC NFL analyst Tony Dungy joined the show to talk about Chip Kelly leaving Oregon, where Dungy’s son plays, for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Dungy said that Kelly may have been watching the playoffs and seen what Russell Wilson and Colin Kaepernick did. Then Kelly thought, hm, maybe my stuff can work.
“I think it was a football decision,” Dungy said.
Dungy said that he doesn’t think that Kelly is tied to have a running quarterback and the QB wasn’t a big factor. “You can change the roster if you need to,” Dungy said.
Dungy also weighed in on Manti Te’o. He said NFL teams want to know what kind of person they’re drafting and they’re going to look hard at Te’o now.
