Clay Matthews: College football adds ‘horrible rule’ on hitting
Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews joined the show to talk about the upcoming season and more.
Matthews commented on the new hitting rule in college. “I think it’s a horrible rule,” Mathtews said. “I saw two clips … one was just a hit on a receiver. These are rules made by guys who never played the game and don’t understand some of the hits that are taken out there. … I also don’t agree with that rule about how if you lose your helmet you have to come out for a play.”
Matthews had interesting comments about cut-down day. He said it’s tough to say good-bye to friends. He said that he thinks he could lobby for a guy, but there’s a reason you have a GM and that will only get you so far.
