Mike Wise: RGIII overpraised last year, ripped unfairly this season

Washington Post columnist Mike Wise joined the show to talk about the problems in Washington and the criticism Robert Griffin III is getting.

Wise said that Griffin probably got too much praise his rookie season. “He sort of became the Messiah in Cleats,” Wise said.

Wise’s problem is the character assassination. He said people act like bad QB play means bad person.

Wise said that it’s unlikely the Redskins can extend Mike Shanahan past next year the way the team has played.

Wise doesn’t think the Redskins will go to Kirk Cousins. He thinks they’re going to get Griffin as many reps as possible to try to help him grown.

Wise said that Griffin knows he can’t last if he runs too much. “He needs to learn how to develop more into a dropback passer at some point,” Wise said.
