Seth Meyers talks about SNL auditions, best guest hosts, why late night

Seth Meyers joined the show to talk about his new late-night show on NBC and much more.

Meyers told great stories about auditions for Saturday Night Live. He said he did Hugh Grant and David Arquette. The best audition he saw was Kristen Wiig.

Meyers talked about some of his favorite guest hosts. He said of course Justin Timberlake, Jon Hamm is great, and Julia-Louis Dreyfuss was outstanding.

Meyers said that he wanted to do a late-night show because he wants something as exciting as SNL. And he loves being in the same building with SNL.

Meyers weighed in on sports guests. He said that Peyton and Eli Manning were outstanding. Spending a week with Charles Barkley is awesome. And Tom Brady was great.

Meyers had interesting stories about hosting the White House Correspondents dinner. He said that he had free reign. Meyers said that he almost got in a little trouble with a joke about how white Obama’s hair has gotten, and that he should meet the 2008 Obama. “He was a very good sport,” Meyers said.
