Mike Wise says 80 percent chance Mike Shanahan is done in Washington

Washington Post columnist Mike Shanahan joined the show to talk about the friction between ownership and Mike Shanahan.

Wise tried to explain why Shanahan would consider benching quarterback Robert Griffin III and why he would risk alienating ownership. “Here’s my gut: Mike Shanahan had decided this is his last card to play,” Wise said. Wise said he may want to get fired and not have to walk away from $7 million next year.

Wise isn’t sure that Shanahan makes it through the weekend. “I can not envision a scenario where his fan base where Dan Snyder allows it to become more of a circus,” Shanahan said. “I’d say odds are 80-20 he’s gone by Monday.”

Wise said that the Redskins would have been making a mistake by looking at Adrian Peterson as a model for recovering from knee surgery. Wise thinks that they brought back RGIII too early.
