Derek Carr: Criticism of his brother is comical

NFL draft prospect Derek Carr joined the show to talk about the process, his brother and being married. Here are some of his takes:

— Carr thinks criticism of his brother David, who didn’t live up to the hype as a No. 1 overall pick, applying to him is comical: “It was one of those things that you smile at. He was the No. 1 overall pick for a reason. There are so many positives to take from it. It was something to laugh at.”

— Dan asked if teams like that he’s married. “Absolutely,” said Carr. “They say they love how mature I am. Having a son and a wife. The biggest thing is to meet them. They’re as much a part of the team as I am.”

— Carr said that he chose No. 4 because he likes Brett Favre: “I’m a big Brett Favre fan. The way he played. Even when it seemed like he was 60 years old.”

— Carr did want to make it clear, he measured over nine-inch hands: “There are teams and coaches who say they won’t take quarterbacks with hands less than nine inches.”
