Dave Zirin on NBA’s options with Donald Sterling
Zirin thinks that David Stern should answer for this because Sterling operated this way under Stern’s watch. He feels Stern and owners like Jerry Buss were enablers.
Zirin thinks that the NBA will try to give the team to Sterling’s estranged wife. But Zirin thinks he could force Sterling to sell the team. Zirin thinks that the NBA should turn the Clippers into a publicly owned company like the Green Bay Packers.
Zirin weighed in on just how bad Sterling is: “If you’re so awful, you compel Michael Jordan to make a political stance …. that’s like the gold medal of awful.”
Zirin said that friends were contacting him on Sunday noting they didn’t enjoy watching the Clippers game on Sunday. He pointed out this is bad for the NBA.
