Joel Klatt: Michael Sam’s lack of versatility a concern

Fox Sports 1’s Joel Klatt joined the show to help break down the NFL Draft.

— Dan asked the biggest concern about Michael Sam. “His versatility … or lack thereof,” Klatt said. Klatt didn’t think there will be locker room issues – they don’t care about anything if a guy can help you win. Klatt said that Sam is primarily a pass-rusher, but the question is, can he play on special teams.

— Klatt weighed in on AJ McCarron. Klatt said that he might have benefited from all the talent in Alabama. Klatt compared him to Trent Dilfer. And Klatt said the concern might be the off-the-field attention. Klatt said teams don’t want their backup to be more famous than their starter.

— Klatt thinks Johnny Manziel has to be the starter Week 1 for Cleveland. Klatt said that he’s a better quarterback then Tim Tebow coming out, but there are still some concerns there with all the attention.

— Klatt thinks the NFL might have read too much into last season for Marqise Lee, considering all the issues USC has.
