Le Batard: LeBron need a coach to act like his caddy

ESPN’s Dan Le Batard joined the show to talk about the Miami Heat’s negotiations with Dwyane Wade and more.

Le Batard says that the Heat and any rational team is fearful of paying for a third year of a player who could be declining. He said the Heat will make a more than fair offer … but he may be asking for even more than that.

Le Batard also talked about the Celtics trying to trade up to get Heat draft pick Justise Winslow. Le Batard said the Celtics offered a jackpot to get him, but Pat Riley “likes Winslow and doesn’t like draft picks.”

Le Batard also weighed in on LeBron’s role with the Heat. He said that LeBron needs a coach like a golfer needs a caddy – David Blatt is basically a high-level assistant. He said LeBron wants “all of the power, none of the responsibility.”
