Steve Fisher says San Diego is Aztecs-crazy, weighs in on Fredette

Stever FisherSan Diego State Steve Fisher joined the show to talk about the Aztecs’ surprising success this season.

Fisher said that the city is crazy about the team right now. “In a town driven by its two pro teams, we have become the talk of the town without question,” Fisher said.

Fisher said this isn’t overnight success. They’ve won a lot over the last several years, and Fisher said they have the structure of a good team that lasts. Fisher said that some of their experience has helped them handle this breakout season.

Still, Fisher did say this is a pretty special team. “I’ve been part of some great teams, but never have I had a team 27-1,” Fisher said.

Fisher also talked about trying to contain BYU’s Jimmer Fredette. He said Fredette is going to score, but they hope to do better this weekend.

Fisher said he’s very happy with this program right now and wouldn’t change places with any other coach.
