Kelly Tripucka says Knicks deserve credit, but can’t get it done
MSG analyst Kelly Tripucka joined the show to talk about the Knicks’ tough losses to the Celtics in the first round of the playoffs.
Tripucka said he’s been very impressed with the energy and defense the Knicks have displayed. But they have to be frustrated they can’t hold on to a lead and execute at the end of a ball game.
Tripucka commented on Carmelo Anthony not taking the last shot against the Celtics in Game 2. Tripucka said Anthony did the right thing by passing to Jared Jeffries. Tripucka said the great players don’t have to take the last shot … they have to make the right play.
To Tripucka, the key is the Celtics’ edge in experience. The Knicks just don’t know how to close.
Tripucka also talked about Dennis Rodman reaching the Hall of Fame. Tripucka wasn’t sure because of some of the character issues. Dan thinks Rodman belongs in the Hall.
