Warren Sapp sticks up for Newton, thinks Titans reach on Locker

NFL Network and Showtime analyst Warren Sapp joined the show to talk about the Draft.

Sapp can’t understand why experts had so many questions about Cam Newton.  “I don’t think any college football quarterback has performed under pressure like this kid,” Sapp said.

Sapp couldn’t understand why Mike Mayock said Newton would become complacent after cashing a big paycheck. Sapp said there’s no evidence that will happens.

Sapp and Dan disagreed about whether Newton should start as a rookie. Dan thinks that Newton would be better served sitting. Sapp said he would definitely start Newton right away.

Sapp does think that the Titans reached on Jake Locker, because of his problems with accuracy in college.

Sapp does like Ryan Mallett. But Sapp doesn’t love Nick Fairley. “He plays too long,” Sapp said. “He plays too high. He won’t grab and move.”
