“It was choreographed that he became who he was, going back to when I was covering him as a kid in the Catskills. They were setting him up. His style was great for TV. The biggest fights of his life he lost.
“He was somebody that America could watch and have an opinion of. He was bigger than life in what he was doing. He wasn’t knocking out anyone of quality. He was afraid of Lenox Lewis and Evander Holyfield. He knocked out everyone in style. Who cares if you didn’t know they were.”
