Steiner: Derek Jeter surprised fan gave ball up so quickly

Steiner Sports memorabilia expert Brandon Steiner joined the show to talk about the value of the equipment involved in Derek Jeter’s 3,000th hit.

Steiner said that on Friday he would have said that the ball was worth $100,000. But he said they got calls where people were offering over $200,000. He said he thinks it’s all the feelings for Jeter coming out.

Steiner said if the fan, Christian Lopez, didn’t offer the ball to Jeter, they could have cut a deal somehow.

Steiner said that he talked to Jeter, and the Yankees shortstop was surprised the fan gave the ball up so quickly.

Steiner has a partnership with the Yankees, and said they had to work out all the details about what they keep and what Jeter keeps. He said that Jeter got the things he wants.
