Romeo Crennel on how Chiefs beat Packers and Broncos

Kansas City Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel joined guest host Howard Eskin to talk about getting the full-time job in K.C. and preview this weekend’s playoff games.

Crennel’s Chiefs were the only team to beat the Packers this season. Eskin asked him how they did it.

“We were able to get him off the spot some and he wasn’t as accurate as he [usually is],” Crennell said. He also said drops helped, as well as holding on to the ball on offense.

Crennel weighed in on Tim Tebow, who the Chiefs also beat in Week 17.  “The thing we wanted to do was not let Tim be a runner,” Crennel said. He noted Tebow did beat them with the pass in the teams’ first matchup, and said that you have to recognize Tebow is an NFL quarterback.

Crennel said Bill Belichick did not reach out to him about the Broncos, noting Belichick is probably pretty busy.
