Tomlinson discusses whether he’ll play again and friction in Jets locker room
Likely future Hall of Famer LaDainian Tomlinson joined the show to talk about his future and analyze the playoffs.
Dan asked Tomlinson if he’s going to retire or possibly become a television broadcaster.
“I still have that fire burning,” Tomlinson said. “At the same time, I’m not under contract. I’m a free agent. For me, it’s about the best option.”
Tomlinson said he wouldn’t make an official decision right now.
Tomlinson addressed his comments on the problems in the Jets locker room. He said if they had won toward the end, none of this would have come out.
Dan asked L.T. if Mark Sanchez is a franchise quarterback. “I think he can be,” Tomlinson said. “I think the book is still out.”
Tomlinson also weighed in on Santonio Holmes. “Santonio is not a bad guy,” Tomlinson said. He’s a great guy to be around. Like most receivers, he wants the ball. … That’s a lot of pressure on him.”
Tomlinson also weighed in on Rex Ryan. He said that Ryan needs to walk a fine line and figure out when to say things.
L.T. talked about the Giants-Patriots matchup. Tomlinson was more impressed with how the Giants won on Sunday than the Patriots. “Right now I’m leaning toward the Giants,” Tomlinson said.
Dan asked Tomlinson if he’d be interested if the Pats offered him a one-year deal. “I’d be tempted because Tom Brady is there,” Tomlinson said. “But I think it’d be a stretch.”
