Chris Mannix says Carmelo needs to redefine his game for Knicks

SI.com’s Chris Mannix joined the show to talk about the big storylines in the NBA. Here are some of his takes …

— Mannix thinks that Carmelo Anthony needs to be more of a facilitator for the Knicks. He said that Anthony pulled back and scored just one point in a win over Charlotte last night, but at least the other Knicks had good offensive games.

“This team is not built to play the way Carmelo Anthony is used to,” Mannix said.

— Mannix called Andrew Bynum the second-best young center in the NBA. He thinks Orlando isn’t going to get a better big man than Bynum. He said the problem is Orlando is playing too well to unload Dwight Howard right now.

— Mannix said the Timberwolves should give Kevin Love a five-year deal. Mannix said Love has gotten better every year and is a definite max-contract player. “I hope they max him out,” Mannix said, “because if not that’s another in a long line of screw-ups for this franchise.”
