David Feherty shares insight on Bubba Watson’s unusual personality

Golf Channel, CBS and GOLF Magazine contributor David Feherty joined the show to share his thoughts on the Masters.

Feherty weighed in on Bubba Watson’s personality. “He’s rare not just in this sport but in life,” Feherty said.

Feherty said that Watson originally didn’t like course reporters. Feherty thought he was a weird guy. His swing was certainly unorthodox. Feherty said that Watson kept a tight circle around him, centered around his wife.

“He’s one in a million in many ways,” Feherty said. “He’s very eccentric. He’s highly strung, but has a huge heart.”

Dan asked Feherty who felt worse ending up in a tie for 40th — Tiger Woods or Rory McIlroy.

“Tiger feels worse because golf is a much bigger part of his life,” Feherty said. “Rory has a life outside golf. He confuses fun and happiness. He thinks they’re the same thing.

Feherty thinks that Tiger needs to kick out everyone and “just play” golf instead of having all these people around and making golf work.
