Denver Post’s Mike Klis: Tebow transcends football, Peyton overthrowing receivers

Denver Post columnist Mike Klis joined the show to talk about Peyton Manning’s performance in OTA and Tim Tebow’s presence in Denver.

Klis said that he’s jumping from Tebow-mania to Peyton Manning-mania in Denver. But he said Tebow was unique: “Tebow is a story that’s never happened,” Klis said.

Klis tried to explain the impact of Tebow on fans. “My mom cared about the Broncos when Tebow was playing,” Klis said. “Grandmas like Tim Tebow. Girlfriends like Tim Tebow. He transcends football.”

Klis noted that Tebow’s comebacks and the fact every expert discounts him, makes him more popular. “The guy’s an everyday Disney movie,” Klis said.

Klis said that he’s not sure what to make of Peyton Manning. He said that Peyton was overthrowing deep outs in practice the other day.
