U.S. Open champ Webb Simpson on nerves, disruptive fan

U.S. Open champion Webb Simpson to talk about winning at Olympic in San Francisco and how his life has changed.

Simpson said that he was more nervous than he’s ever been at the end of the round on Sunday. “I was able to somewhat hold on to the club,” Simpson said. “I was shaking over the last putt but somehow it went in.

Simpson said that he and his wife were able to sit in the locker room afterward and watch the other golfers finish.

Dan asked who has contacted him. Simpson said Tom Watson and Tom Lehman were among the luminaries that contacted him afterward.

Simpson also explained his view of the lunatic who jumped  on stage during the trophy ceremony. “He appeared out of nowhere,” Simpson said.
“I didn’t see him until he was right in front of me. My first thought was that he was a streaker.”

Dan and Simpson talked about There are some guys who will say some funny stuff. “The Phoenix Open is notorieous for the 16th hole,” Simpson said. “They know so much.”
