Rich Lerner says Rory McIlroy best golfer in world
Golf Channel’s Rich Lerner joined the show to talk about the PGA Championship and Rory McIlroy.
Lerner said McIlroy hit a slump and guys questioned him, but now McIlroy put those arguments to rest.
“He’s the best player in the world,” Lerner said. “Right now Rory is a better golfer than Tiger [Woods].”
Lerner said that McIlroy has a perfect swing, comparing him to Fred Couples. Lerner said that McIlroy isn’t a big guy, but he has a ton of power now.
Lerner said McIlroy’s blowout win on Sunday was Tiger-esque and he has a lot of moxy. Lerner even noted McIlroy wore red on Sunday and didn’t care.
Lerner said what is really missing with Tiger is the putting magic. Lerner, however, said that Tiger has had a good year by anyone else’s measurement.
