Peter King weighs in on Peyton’s debut, Tebow and Jets
Sports Illustrated’s Peter King joined the show to talk about the upcoming season and more.
King says that he talked to Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau this week and LeBeau thinks that Peyton looks like the old Peyton. LeBeau also said that the most important aspect of being a quarterback is mental, not arm strength.
King talked about Ben Roethlisberger saying he’d miss a game for the birth of his child. He thinks that it’s harder than you might think for a franchise quarterback.
King thinks that bringing in Tim Tebow could end up being a smart decision for the Jets. But King is worried about the Jets’ receiving corps. He also said running back Shonn Greene has been a disappoointment.
King said the Seahawks’ Russell Wilson is the one rookie quarterback with the best chance to make the playoffs. He said that Seattle could have a top-five defense and Wilson is a special player. King also noted that the height thing with quarterbacks is overrated.
King’s Super Bowl pick is Green Bay 33-Denver 30. King acknowledged that the Broncos is a surprise pick, but he thinks that they have a good plan to keep Peyton Manning standing upright.
