Bobby Petrino talks about new chance at Western Kentucky

Western Kentucky coach Bobby Petrino joined the show to talk about his new job.

Dan asked how many calls he got this year. “There were a number of calls that came in,” Petrino said. “Some were about head coaching jobs and some were coordinator jobs.”

Petrino discussed what he will tell parents when he comes into their living room recruiting: “I made a mistake, just like a lot of people have. But it’s made me a better person. There will be a time when they’re son makes a mistake. I’ll help them.”

Petrino said he’s worked hard on counseling over the last year with his wife and he’s ready to embark on the next part of his life.

Dan asked if he thought about not coaching this year. “No, I never had that thought,” Petrinto said. “I grew up a coach’s son. I never thought I had a job, it was a way of life.”
